The OrganizationIn memory of Marilyn Colletta who on February 25, 2005 succumbed from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), The Marilyn Colletta AML Foundation was formed. The Marilyn Colletta AML Foundation is a not for profit 501c3 organization dedicated to organizing community support to fund medical research. Net proceeds received from fundraising efforts or donations will be used for the purpose of achieving the mission of the organization and operation of the foundation.
Our MissionThe Marilyn Colletta AML Foundation is an organization committed to raising funds for the Stony Brook University Hospital and Hematology Oncology Associates of Western Suffolk research dedicated to the cure for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). Funds may also be provided to other researches dedicated in finding a cure for AML and/or other related blood diseases including, pre-leukemia, Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS/bone marrow failure disorders), all hematologic malignances and autoimmune diseases. Proceeds received from fundraising efforts and donations will be used solely for the purposes noted above. The continued operation of the Foundation for achieving its mission will utilize minimal operating funds.
